On June of 2018, we visited Sihanoukville, Cambodia to meet the children. Sihanoukville is located in the city of Kampot. It approximately takes five hours car distance away from Phnum Penh and it is a famous port city. Even though Cambodia is constantly developing, they are still ranked 107th out of world’s GDP and Cambodia needs the most help out of the four countries in Indochina peninsula (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam). Cambodia’s society once suffered from an event called the “Killing Fields” which was a massacre that was led by a communist party Khmer Rouge.  Most of the teachers were murdered, books were burned, and schools were utilized as a prison which collapsed the Cambodian education system. 

Therefore, LOVE FNC decided to go on a vision trip to Cambodia to build the sixth school.  

This time, entertainer Roh Hong Cheol, actor Jung Hae In, and FNC staff joined the trip. Roh Hong Cheol and Jung Hae In already have a history with LOVE FNC volunteer service. They were members of the first ever LOVE FNC volunteer team that visited Philippines. Even with their heavy schedules, the two kept their promise that they will come back. 

Also, they even learned magic tricks to show the children. They were very amazed by those tricks.

In the evening, we had popcorn and drinks with the children while watching a movie. 

In the upcoming summer, we will begin to build a school on Koh Thmei island that is an hour away from Sihanoukville. Koh Thmei island is a small island where about 80 family lives. The island still does not have electricity and proper infrastructure. 

Of course, there is no school either. Until the new school was built, children had to cross the water for an hour in order to attend school. Therefore, many parents had to give up on their children’s education. However, if the school is constructed on the island, children will be able to attend school without crossing the water. Since the island is not that big, children can easily walk from home to school. They can even play with their friends at school.

We, LOVE FNC, build schools and meet the children that attend the school in order to make all the children to feel loved. We thank all the people who support the children and their dream.
